48hr delivery took 11 days!

I was quite impressed with the price for the service but soon realised why.
The parcel was collected on 27th June. An email confirmed it had been collected and stated it would be delivered to it's destination on 28th. Great I thought. That is good service. 1 week later, the recipient contacted me to ask when he would receive his parcel. I contacted the company and was told they were unable to locate the address I had supplied. I checked Royal Mail's website again and it was absolutely correct. I emailed them to confirm this and eventually got an email back stating they would attempt re-delivery. It finally arrived at it's destination on 9th July.
I was totally unimpressed with the apparent lack of care that this parce was so late. Fortunately, the recipient was understanding but, had this been a crucial, time sensitive parcel, it could have been a lot more serious.
I have to say though, that the person who I corresponded with by email was very helpful but the overall speed of service was very poor.
11 days for a parcel that should have been delivered within 48hrs.
As a first impression, it has rather put me off wanting to use them again.

Hi Nicola,

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused on this occasion.

I have looked at your order and can see the courier was having difficulty delivering the parcel due to the delivery address supplied. We did pass the information over to City Link to assist in making this delivery and when it was attempted again no-one was home to receive the parcel.

A further delivery attempt was then completed and the parcel was then delivered.
