The website itself I cannot fault as it is of a very good standard, but three times I have ordered from Ark recently and twice an item has been out of stock!
It's such a shame because it somehow manages to be the one item that I am most interested in. It really puts me off purchasing from them and leaves me with little confidence as I wonder if I will actually receive the items I initially order. Very unprofessional.
I am absolutely dedicated to OPI nail polishes and swear by them, so I was thrilled when I found out about Lena White.
The choice on offer is incredible with great prices and detailed descriptions/photos.
They often have fantastic discounts, new releases and sale products too.
The main probably that I have had is with customer services!
Everytime I have placed an order (roughly 4 so far this year alone) a message has popped up about a 'high volume of customers' and that my order 'could be delayed by up to 7 working days' - fair enough. But OPIUK/Lena White don't notify you with any despatch email so you have no idea when your order is on it's way. I waited patiently for my parcel and nothing arrived. So I contacted customer services and got an extremely rude response!
Basically I was told that in the space of 7 working days (as stated on the website) my parcel had been attempted to be delivered and had been returned to them. Apparently the courier knocked and left a card - I didn't witness either of these. Customer services then told me that I had to pay a charge for my parcel to be redelivered! I objected and after numerous emails they eventually resent my parcel (without having to pay any fees).
To make matters worse the items inside were birthday presents for a friend which ended up being late.
Shocking customer services, such a shame really for such a promising website!
I've been using State Side Candy Co. occasionally for a number of years now but the main bugbear (and reason why I don't order a lot more frequently) is the price of P&P!
I can understand that it's expensive for the company to post such heavy items (such as groceries, cans of pop etc) but it's a nightmare for customers wanting to order a few chocolate bars and packets of crisps.
I cannot justify spending £4.50 on postage when my order total is around £20-£30. Most companies offer a free service for orders over at least £20, whereas with this one the minimum is a whopping £50.
I love the huge selection of products on offer and the prices are competitive but I honestly think that the company should offer a cheaper more reasonable P&P service for people wanting to place smaller orders.
For example my local shopping centre now has 3 American candy shops with cheaper prices - only problem is it's quite far to travel to across the city. I'd much rather travel there than pay an unreasonable P&P cost!
I've ordered from Topshop no end of times and can honestly say that I've never been impressed.
The clothing is fairly expensive for something that is usually of average design and/or quality. The website is easy to use but a little bit too minimalist. The delivery charge is pretty ridiculous for such a large company/brand. Delivery itself is average, bordering on slow.
Returns aren't simple (as you have to log in and request a return number) and refunds take a while to clear.
I've often taken returns back to store for a refund or even an exchange but it has always been a hassle. Tried 3 different stores and the staff in all 3 have usually been unhelpful.
Overall I much prefer to shop elsewhere and only buy items from Topshop occasionally.
Fantastic website with an incredible selection and plenty of variety. Quick, cheap and discreet postage which usually arrives within a few days (even when selecting Economy).
Reasonable prices, often with a lot of deals/offers and sales. The 365 day money back returns guarantee is a great idea, as is the recycling and rewards schemes they operate.
Where do I start with ASOS?
I've been shopping with them for roughly 10 years now and I am smitten.
I never bother going to my local shopping centre (Meadowhall) as I know I can get everything and more online!
Yes parcels have gone missing, yes items have turned up wrong and yes my order has been partially canceled when items have gone out of stock - but every time I have contacted customer services they've been extremely helpful and responded quickly. Happily and successfully recommended them to many friends, family and even boyfriends too!
Overall great brands, great prices, fantatic selection and often have sales & discount codes. Free quick delivery & free easy to use returns. Probably the best online shopping site I use.
I've ordered from Look Fantastic twice now, both times I've been a bit suspicious.
My first order arrived fairly quickly and was the most impressive of the two.
But the second (from last week) was terrible. Firstly the two items I ordered were wrapped in one thin sheet of paper, with no invoice/dispatch note/pick note (same as the first) and held together by one thin piece of clear tape which was actually open at one end!
The items themselves were also very dirty. The finishing spray I ordered had a thick ring of muck around the lid and when sprayed felt as though it had already been tried.
Another thing that strikes me questionable is on the back of the Paul Mitchell products it reads: "Guaranteed ONLY when sold by professional hairdresser, otherwise it may be counterfeit, black market, old or tampered with."
Not sure what to make of that.
