I went in-store to see if i could get a deal on a range cooker, american fridge, cooker-hood and coffee machine. cooker was at the best price and there was cash back on the fridge so i took them but was unable to get a reduction on the other stuff (worth a try!). cooker was ex display so I managed to get £25 off! after paying i was told the fridge was out of stock, and would be in next week. this was fine as i wasn't in a rush for them, and was happy for both items to come at the same time. 3 WEEKS later and still no contact, got on the phone to Knowhow and the fridge was still out of stock. I asked for them to deliver the cooker on its own then...
when the lorry arrived the £850 fisher and pykel cooker was "wrapped" in one sheet of old bubble wrap, the driver didn't want to deliver to the house as they needed to wheel the cooker down an alleyway (1.2m wide, plenty of space). I said that was fine to just put it in the gateway. he the tried to stand it on its end, the shelves etc were loose inside the oven and of course smashed the window on the oven door! I move into the house in 3 days time and have nothing to cook on or keep the food cold!!! Thanks Currys!
UPDATE:- I went back online at 9pm after the delivery attempt and ordered from apliances online and peter tyson, they are delivering next day! excellent call back service, gave me the no for the driver etc and a 4 hour delivery window. all for the same price at currys. no wonder the high street is losing out.
