Appalling service, they broke my item and refused my claim, even though I took out insurance.

I needed to send a section of a fishing pole in the post so thought it best to use a courier. I went online and used Parcel2go. Now as I was completing the online paperwork the website stated that fishing rods were not covered for compensation, so I continued with the online application and Parcel2go then offered me insurance to cover loss or damage. I took out insurance at an additional cost to cover the item for £180.
The pole arrived broken in three pieces! I had to send multiple documents including pictures of packaging and proof of purchase. Then Parcel2go refused my claim. They said that the pole was one of the items not covered! And yet they allowed me to purchase insurance thinking I was covered. I'm not happy with this service. It's appalling, and misleading.
They did offer me a goodwill gesture but it was so low it wouldn't even cover the cost of repair.
I will never use Parcel2go again!
