Misinformed on delivery - Complete fiasco

Ordered a shower screen with a pleasant customer assistant. I was told that delivery would be confirmed the night before and narrowed down to a 3 hour window. I was pleased about this as I had plans for the day ahead. But when I received no contact from Argos I called their customer service and was told that this was actually an all day appointment, they apologised but said that the driver did not carry a phone and so this could not be narrowed down any further!! I was not best pleased and decided to go into the shop instead. The manager was helpful, she refunded the delivery charge and I collected another and was given a lift by a member of staff. But would you believe it....oh yes...when I got home the shower screen from the delivery was in the lobby of the flats so I now had TWO! I took the other one back into the store and although they had given me £5 compensation this was not the way I wanted to spend my Saturday! They said they had raised the issue that drivers should carry phones due to similar such issues but this had largely been ignored by the managers above so what can I say.
