Pleased with first order

I see that Jacamo get a bit of a mixed bag of reviews.

I have only ordered once, got a couple of pairs of jeans as they obviously cater for the bigger bloke which isn't the case on the high street.

I'm very pleased with the jeans and they turned up very quickly as well. Also got 10% off first order, postage was £3.99 on 2 pairs which I thought very reasonable. I have also received a voucher in the post since for 10% off my next order.

However I can see where things could go wrong. They do seem to want you to use their catalogue credit type thing as your suggested payment method - although very easy to change to credit card.

Also they use, at least in my case, the TERRIBLE courier company myHermes who I find very unreliable and negligent - this alone might put me off using them again.

I can see how people might have problems with them - and I'd be interested to see what happens if I use them again and need to return something, but I'm quite satisfied with my first order.

1 star lost for myHermes and suggesting credit without you really asking for it.


Will never buy from Halfords again

Peterhead - Aberdeenshire branch.

We had a car battery from Halfords with a supposed 4 year replacement gaurantee.

The battery failed just under the 1 year mark, it would say 'fully charged' as soon as you connected it to the charger.

Halfords refused to replace it as they insisted it must be a problem with my car and not the battery - and if they changed it they would just be 'stuck with it', assumingly it's ok for me just to be stuck with it.

I offered to bring the car in, so they could check there was no fault with the car, and then if they were happy they would change the battery ? Apparently this was no good and my car was still at fault regardless.

I must have bridled at this a bit as the assistant manager told me with this attitude I wouldn't get anywhere - I don't remember being anything but polite to be honest.

Emailed customer service and got pretty much the same - we have your money now and we don't care about you anymore.

As such, I would now rather drive the extra 20 miles to pretty much ANY other car parts stockist.

Have since bought a new battery from a different reseller and everything is fine.

I will never shop in Halfords again, for anything.

Horrible, grubby little company that doesn't care about their customers - surely they must be doomed to the same fate as Comet who had the same level of contempt for their customers.

A rare company that takes customer service seriously

Ordered a new cooker on Friday - confirmed for delivery on Monday.

Arrived today (Monday).

In between times we recevied confirmation emails, an email giving us a 4 hour window of when the delivery would turn up.

The driver also rang to confirm the time of delivery.

They turned up exactly when they said they would and quickly and cheerfully unloaded the new cooker.

Very professional service, a RARE company it seems these days that actually care about giving their customers a good service.

Couldn't recommend any more highly.
