Cex is a great place and only once they didn't gave what I needed but sourced it from other stores my first port of call for my media and electronics!
Absolute rubbish! Ordered our fridge freezer last saturday paid in full in store, as the freezer part of our fridge freezer had died after 5 years. Paid for delivery on the following Friday (a day that if I went into labour at 39 weeks pregnant the mother in law could be around to take delivery) were given an afternoon slot and waited - 6pm we get a phone call "this nicoli, taillift broke, no fridge today, come first thing tomorrow, bye" no chance to respond and clarify so a call -the first of many half hour mainly on hold calls, to thd call centre - no mention of the cost of the calls either!
Spoke to a woman who apologised and put me on hold to find out what had happened and to find out the new delivery slot so we can plan for potential labour day.... Apparently she was told that they were busy and that she would call me back. At 10pm we finally gave up waiting for our nonexistent call back and checked online in the morning and called customer service again to see why we were not called back (6p per min for another 30 mins) we were told by an advisor the fridge was being delivered Saturday in the afternoon and there was no record of my callthe night before!! We had planned to take the kids out but couldn't miss the fridge delivery - small children and pregnant women in summer need fresh milk and properly stored food! (bearing in mind as they were taking our old one we had disconnected it as advised by the currys sales staff on the Thursday) at about 1pm Saturday after we had cancelled our plans, we received a call from a dept manager saying that yet again the truck had broken down and they were hoping to get it fixed to send our fridge today (obviously there's only one truck in the area) he promised to keep us updated. I called customer service to see what they had to say 2 hours later as noone kept in contact - more transparent apologies and no idea whether the fridge was coming or not. Official complaint was recorded by the customer service manager - but still no fridge freezer or any indication - was told they would call 30-40 minutes before arrival but was told we would be called if they couldn't deliver that day i was less than impressed. At 5.50pm ten minutes before the call centre closed I called again to find out what was going on , I was told the item wasn't going to be delivered today, i shouldbe received a call and would have to be booked another day- I said it needed to be the following morning or else I would cancel the order, it was put in for a 7am-11am slot we just prayed baby didn't attemp an appearance as we had noone to cover the arrival of the fridge! Luckily the fridge arrived before 8am with a call 10 mins prior to delivery- mad dash getting the kids out of the way and looking slightly less deshevelled from sleep our fridge freezer arrived. I will now be spending a long time recovering the delivery charge, claiming for milk and food items ruined due to the lack ofcustomer service, claiming the phone call charges and the cost of our day out that was cancelled unnecessarily- wish md luck as I have no faith ill get anything back now customer service of currys is appalling they couldn't care less and are less than helpful. Ill never use currys again and will be advising everyone I know and loads i dont that currys are a total waste of time effort and money! And watchdog and ofcom will certainly be getting a complaint from me!
