These courses are great if you don't have time to go to college as you can do everything in your own time. The nail trainer is good and you do get a lot of equipment in the box. However, the dvd is very outdated (prepare yourself for big hair) and they only teach you the very basics. By that I mean, a simple pink overlay. In the acrylic course, they only teach you natural tips, there is nothing about French tips. I appreciate that you can't learn everything but if they included the information in the book then you could choose whether to study it or not. The re-usuable forms as useless and you can only sculpt a square nail and then file it down. There is nothing about glitter tips, mixing your own powders or stiletto nails. The book doesn't even cover all the different nail shapes just square, sqoval or oval. It is a good starting point but I wouldn't dare call myself an 'acrylic nail technician'. I've had to watch alot of you tube videos to get the information I need. It seems all the extra information is covered in other courses that you have to pay more for.
I did order the maintenance course (which I paid extra for) and that is very good in terms of content and information. However, you have to complete 20 maintenance nails and you only get 20 nails in the box. There is no room for error or extra practice! On my first nail I accidentally caught the cuticle but I'm going to have to send it in as I have no others. You can order them but it costs £9.99 + p&p for another 20.
The staff are great though and very helpful - I can't fault that!
