Big bookseller with a personal touch

They can help you access any book you need - directly or through their marketplace. In store, the staff know their books and are helpful without being in your face. Foyles is brilliant.

Bike sent out two weeks ago, still not received

Not had a great experience so far with Wiggle. I placed an order with Wiggle three weeks ago. The courier failed to deliver on the nominated date and a week later I'm still waiting. The bike looks good online, but next time I think I'll save the hassle of couriers and go to a shop!

The perfect dining experience

At least one of my desert island dishes would come from this restaurant.

The food is exquisite, the prices reasonable, the atmosphere relaxed and intimate, and the customer service is second to none. I appreciated how the wait-staff were attentive, but not suffocating – and they were incredibly friendly. The menu is extensive; we opted for the degustation menu which was around seven courses. Courses of perfectly cooked, fresh seafood that would be the envy of any posh nosh establishment in London. My partner and I were there for a lovely dinner together, there was a family party, there were other couples… and we all peacefully coexisted. Lovely ambiance.

I can’t find a superlative high enough to praise this restaurant.


Poor customer service

Getlaidbeds has disappointing customer service. Delivery of my base was scheduled on the requested date between 8am and 6pm - fairly standard timeframe for deliveries. I took the day off work to be at home for the delivery and it didn't arrive. When I called getlaidbeds, they informed me that an attempt had been made and a card left - neither of which happened. I won’t be able to take another day off work, so have to wait for a Saturday in two weeks time for redelivery. It’s frustrating that they do not offer evening deliveries - which might make up the mistake that was made. I accept that the courier company is at fault, but getlaidbeds has made no attempt to remedy the situation and I had to do all the ringing around and emailing when my bed didn't arrive. I'm quite unimpressed by the lack of customer care.

We're sorry to hear that your order was not as smooth as usual.

We do have proof that we attempted delivery on the chosen day but nobody was there to answer and a note is not always left. The delivery was upgraded out of kind to a Saturday delivery for your convenience. Evening deliveries are unfortunately economically difficult to make work. We appreciate your feedback and will endeavour to improve our services further.
