ProCook

Good pan good price

I needed a 14in saucepan with a lid. ProCook had a choice for me. The prices were very good and it arrived in a few days. Just the job!

Exante Diet

Tasty soups, shame about the meals

The website is a little difficult to navigate as some products seem to be hidden compared to others in the same category. Once ordered the products arrive very quickly. I've tried the soups, meals and porridge. Only like the soups, the others are awful.

When you compare the soups to other powdered soups, diet or otherwise, these are tasty and mix easily. I need to take a little milk as part of my diet and as I drink coffee and tea black, I use 100ml of milk warmed in the microwave as part of the fluid for the chicken, mushroom and vegetable soups, it makes them creamier. The vegetable soup is very good with a fresh pea taste and the Thai Chicken has a good comforting chicken flavour. The mushroom and tomato and basil soups are OK.

I've tried two of the meals so far. At first sight the amount of fluid to mix the meal is really a lab measure not a kitchen measure, the average kitchen measure in the shops only works in 50ml steps at best, so 180ml is difficult to measure. I found it is far too much and I reduced it to 100ml on my second attempt, but it is still too wet. My microwave is quite high powered, but I found the carbonara was more like a soup after the requisite time; some of the pasta was still crunchy! I doubled the time but it was still very sloppy, and it tastes quite salty. The curry, I tried with half the water, but it was still wet and looked like cat sick. Tasted very salty and chemical, I had to eat a small amount of ice-cream to take the disgusting taste away. Doesn't anybody outside the company look at or taste these products?

If you need to add a tricky amount of fluid, why not make the packaging more like Oat So Simple, where the material is transparent and there is a line for using the packaging as a measure?

The meals don't make it very clear if you are meant to add pasta, rice or potatoes to the meal, the carbonara has some, but the curry didn't seem to have any and there were no recommendations on the packet.

The porridge is very runny when mixed with 200ml, tried 150 still not right. Very little texture. Apple and Cinnamon flavour too strong and artificial, only ate half.
