I got measured in the Preston store a few days ago and given a card entitling me to 20% off full price. Went in today and asked for the style I'd been originally fitted in, tried the bra on and it was gaping massively, I pulled the cord to speaker to an assistant she couldn't believe how big the bra was. I showed her the proof of my measurement days earlier and she basically said that she didn't really want to comment as I'd been fitted by her colleague but the bra wasn't fitting. I then tried on the same range but balconette style which is the actual bra I'd been fitted in and although it wasnt gaping the assistant told me it was still too big. They then sent in the assistant who'd wrongly measured me days earlier who had me trying on the bras again, she then wanted to measure me two cup sizes down from the original measurement (something I knew I would be spilling out of) this is despite first telling me by sight that i would need the size she measured. she then tried to push the sale for the full price bras even though I'd repeatedly told her that I didn't want any as I hadnt changed bra size after all. I said to the manager I felt messed around and didn't trust the fitting she then asked 'did you think the bra fit the other day?' Not being a trained bra fitter that is irrelevant! it was not gaping and being measured by a professional i presumed it was correct! She argued that what I was saying was unfair because nobody would intentionally measure me wrong, she then said how some people are between sizes, this had neve been suggested in my fitting. She also argued cup size varies due to the menstrual cycle asking me if I was on my period on the shop floor and looked disbelieving when I said I wasn't, I didn't bother saying that my weight was very stable. The assistant who'd told me I was basically measured incorrectly at no time came to my defence and said she had told me the fit was wrong, despite being stood next to me, she did not say a word. the manager said all bras fitted differently and that the shape in the same range differred as cup size went up, i am not an idiot and that is why id been fitted! My mother then entered the shop and the manager said to her 'you'll know what I mean your chest fluctuates during your cycle' she then continued to talk solely to my mother, I felt belittled and like I'd been spoken to as if I was a child the whole way through our conversation and as a 20 year old who looks more like 18 I have to contend with this a lot. however, I've only ever been spoken to like a child in Ann summers! I left the shop in tears and without the sale goods which I'd fitted myself that I actually wanted. The manager continued speaking to my mother saying she'd never had someone react the same way as me in the five years she'd worked there. Not once did she offer an apology to me and admit that the assistant could have been wrong. I work in retail and the company I work for advises us to apology profusely so as to keep the customers trust in the brand! I mentioned my experience to friends and one described the manager and told me she'd had her boobs grabbed by her without warning on the shop floor! Disgusting service!
