Need to stick with Royal Mail

I ordered a net curtain from Woodyatt Curtains, as they appeared to deliver by Royal Mail. I was not in for the delivery, so re-arranged for a Saturday delivery with Royal Mail. This was fine, and the curtain was perfect.
I needed a rod to hold the curtain up, so ordered this from Woodyatt Curtains, as I was happy the first time. This time the delivery came via APC - Monday to Friday only, no care for working people! I hoped they would deliver next door, as there was someone in, but they just stuck a card through the door.
I am not going to take a day off for a £6 curtain rod, so will not be dealing with Woodyatt Curtains again, until they sort out a carrier that understands that some people are at work during the week....

Dear Gary Tivendale,

Thank you for your feedback, however unfortunately royal mail was not an option due to your parcels large dimensions.

Ideally we would send all of our parcels royal mail, but unfortunately this is not possible because there is a size restriction of 90cm (3 foot), any parcel which has a dimension larger than this size can not be posted with royal mail. You parcel was slightly over 100 cm this is why it was delivered courier. The courier companies can deliver on a saturday but they charge extra for this which normally costs £15, this is very expensive therefore it is not used very often. We realise it is very frustrating if you miss the delivery and get carded by the courier. This is why we recommend you have an alternative delivery address such as a work, business address or a close neighbour, you can select a different delivery address on the website. We email all of our customers the day the parcels are due to be delivered. If you are going out for a bit. One Solution is too leave a large message/instructions on your front door, asking the courier to deliver to a neighbour or put it somewhere safe, which they normally follow. Alternatively if you have been carded by the courier, and are unable to be at the address for the next few days. Our customers can call our customer helpline and suggest delivering to a neighbour or different address. We can then update the courier and let them know.
