I have travelled by Easybus couple times before and haven't had problems before, as I have always bought the tickets on the spot. But after this incident I will never use Easybus again!
Me & my friend had booked tickets for Sunday night, 14.10, 04.00. We arrived at the bus stop 15 minutes beforehand, and the first bus showed up 04.05, but just drove past us. Another bus showed up 04.20, but only let those with 04.15 ticket on. There were three other people with the same ticket as us, and one of them told the driver that our bus had been overbooked and advised him to take the next bus. This driver took the three other customers on the bus, but yelled to us that there were no more room left in this bus and "It's not his problem". We asked him to call the company but he just hurried away, leaving us in the cold.
At this point we were desperate and didn't want to wait and see what will happen with the next Easybus, because it would be almost an hour later than the one we had booked, and there were already many people waiting with right time tickets.
We decided to take National Express not to miss our flight, and there were enough seats for us. Of course we had to pay £10 extra, which we luckily had left in our pockets. The driver was really warm and friendly AND the bus was on time.
Now afterwards, I remember seen other customers of Easybus stressed and confused and telling the driver that they have the right ticket and won't be let on, at the same time when I got buy the ticket to this particular bus. I'm certain that there's a lot of overbooking and cheating going on with Easybus. I'm pretty sure that we'll never get the money back because contacting the company has been made really difficult. According to my experience National Express worked well and the price was the same, so I recommend this company also to everyone else!
