I had my new phone delivery booked for a Thursday, 8am-6pm time slot which was fine as i was in till 10:45 and a housemate was in the rest of the day. As i left for work i found a 'sorry we missed you' card, saying they had tried to deliver my phone at 10:27.. which was strange because there was two of us in the house at the time (myself anxiously waiting for my phone while i waited to go to work) Neither of us heard a noise, not even a small knock. I had even checked several times because i thought i had heard a small knock but nothing. I then re-arrange to have my parcel left in the front porch which i had left unlocked the next day, only to come home from work at lunch time to find yet ANOTHER 'sorry we missed you' calling card, saying that the door was apparently locked.. Sorry but i personally left the door open and nobody else had been home within the time i was out, so whether the delivery driver just decided he didnt even want to attempt a delivery i do not know! I have now changed it for monday when i am in all day.. do i need to keep the front door open!?! Should they fail again i have to drive to the nearest depot which is in stoke, a 80 Mile round trip!! Phoned customer services to advise them on maybe getting their delivery drivers to i don't know.. actually knock!? But the gentleman on the phone didn't seem sympathetic or seem to make any attempt to say that he would pass that on. I will never willingly choose to use DPD, even if i have to pay extra for a different delivery service!
