We ordered all our bedroom furniture from Oakfurnitureland. Furniture was delivered on time although delivery men express their doubts about us being able to get the furniture upstairs, not sure why. One wardrobe handle was a bit wobbly but when we mentioned it in the shop the shop assistant ordered a replacement to be posted and it arrived within two days which was much quicker than expected. All in all, a really good service and having experienced numerous problems with many other companies and their home delivery, Oakfurnitureland stands out with their great service
I have ordered an item to be delivered on Saturday and paid extra for it to be delivered then as working full time I could only accept delivery on Saturday. Estimated delivery time was 7am to 6pm and they were unable to specify the usual 4 hour time slot. Fair enough. But at 11am on Saturday I've received a text message saying that due to unforeseen circumstances the item could not be delivered today and will be delivered tomorrow. Having already made plans it was a bit inconvenient but I thought I'd give them a chance. But Sunday delivery? I didn't know Argos did Sunday home delivery? Unless it was extended service before Christmas. I checked online order tracking but there seemed to be an error so I couldn't get any further info. On Sunday morning I thought I better be safe and rang customer services first thing. Now to be fair, customer service staff was very friendly and apologetic and I always try and save my fury for people who deserve it and not poor customer service staff. So they checked my order and said the problem was that the item had not been sent to the warehouse at all. So there was no chance of delivery happening that day. Or following day. Apparently, 'it should be within next 7 days'. I was gutted not only that nobody called me to tell me that, but sent a text giving another delivery date that clearly could not be possible, but also having paid extra for Saturday delivery nearly a week in advance.. Anyway, I cancelled the order and will try get the item from somewhere else, somewhere more reliable as Argos also use yodel and I had numerous problems with them as well so even if the item was on Yodel van, that didn't mean it would arrive. Shame, as I used Argos home delivery in the past 5 years ago and experienced no problems whatsoever. Will I try again? No.
I ordered 3 items in a jewellery sale in November and after placing the order the website have estimated dispatch date of 'between 2nd December and 26th December'. Since placing the order up to 22nd of December there had been no update on my online account with regards to my order progress, nor did I receive any follow up email. On the 23rd December I contacted customer services to ask about delivery dates over Christmas, it was obvious the items wouldn't be dispatched within given time scales. The following day I received an email saying the supplier had let them down and a part of my order will be cancelled. They didn't specify what items will be cancelled and nothing about refunds or delivery of remaining items. So I had to chase them again only to receive an email 3 days later to say my order had been cancelled, the supplier had let them down so they had refunded the money.
I don't think I'll ever bother using them again. High risk of wasting time and not receiving anything.
