I have used specsavers West Croydon for several years without trouble. However 13 days ago I had a prescription made up and was given a date to pick up my glasses. I took time off work and travelled to the store for midday, only to be asked if I had been given an appointment time and then told to wait. I was then left without further contact for fifteen minutes before being told that the glasses weren't ready and 'hadn't the director rang me yesterday to tell me'? Obviously not as I was in their store! I was then dismissed with the advice that it would take about another week for the glasses to be available.
I asked to speak to the manager and fifteen minutes later I was still waiting, without any feedback, so I asked at the reception what was going on. Eventually I saw an Assistant Manager who blamed the Director for not calling me. And he still couldn't tell me when my glasses would be available! While waiting I sat next to an old woman who had been waiting for her glasses since mid April (this is now the start of June) and had just been told again that they weren't available for another three weeks.
The Director is due to call me tomorrow (maybe). If I don't get satisfaction I shall demand a full refund and go to another optician. This is a rubbish service.
