Really pleased with the overall service I received from Hughes Direct. Their website was easy and straight forward to use. I received good email confirmations regarding my order for a tumble dryer. I also received 2 text messages giving details of my delivery and a phone call from the Arrow driver 15 minutes before he came. The delivery men then unpacked everything and took away all the packaging. They were so courteous and polite too. Can't rate them highly enough- superb!
Blinds 2go website is very easy to navigate around and there is a good selection of colours and styles to choose from-all at very competitive prices. However, I had an absolute nightmare when it came to the delivery which was by the totally incompetent so called delivery company City Link. I posted a review on Trust Pilot on the 14th Dec under City Link, titled "Avoid this company at all cost".
Sadly, unless Blinds 2go decide to change their delivery company I won't be ordering anything else from them.
City Link attempted to deliver my first parcel last Mon 9th Dec but I was at work so I used their automated telephone number to reschedule my delivery for Fri 13th. However, they attempted to deliver it along with another parcel the next day and because they said they had tried twice on the card, I would now have to collect both parcels from their depot 25 miles away. I rang customer services who agreed that I had arranged the rescheduled delivery for Fri 13th so reassured me that both parcels would still be delivered as arranged between 7.30am and 5.30pm on Fri.
So I sat at home on Fri and waited for 10 very long hours to go past-but surprise surprise NO PARCELS!!
So, phone call number 3 to City Link and I'm told that unfortunately the depot have changed my delivery date till Mon 16th Dec without as much as a phone call to let me know or an explanation/apology to why this had happened! However, I'm at work all day on Mon so the only option is to collect the parcels myself on Sat morning. Customer services assured me my parcels would be at the depot I just needed to take my delivery cards with the consignment numbers on!
This morning I drive the 25 miles to the depot in Peterborough and yes my parcels are there, but the obnoxious depot staff wouldn't let me have them without 2 forms of ID-one being photo ID and the other a utility bill which I don't have with me! A queue of people were having the same issues as me so I rang customer services on my mobile phone to ask them why they hadn't informed me on the phone on Fri evening that I'd need to take in ID- what an incompetent unhelpful company!
Half an hour later, the customer services manager (using my mobile phone) spoke to depot staff to finally allow me to have my parcels!!! What a very painful experience which I never want to repeat!
The moral of this story is never ever ever use this so called company and if you are doing online shopping, if it says "courier delivery" the chances are it will be City Link, so do what I'm doing in the future-using my trusty high street!
