Seeking my first road bike, I was a little apprehensive that I'd be left feeling confused and/or patronised when I visited Sigma, given its reputation as one of London's top shops for serious cyclists. There was nothing to be afraid of. The sales assistant, Elliott, couldn't have been more helpful. He guided me to choosing the right bike for me, he spent a long time fitting it and he encouraged me to take it out for a try. He spent a long time patiently explaining the features to me without ever making me feel like an idiot. I'd highly recommend them. The contrast between my experience with Sigma and my experience at a better-known chain of shops that I'd visited previously was vast.
**Note: I tried leaving this review on Tigerbox's site without success. Maybe they censor the negative reviews.**
My experience with Tigerbox was awful. My order for an 8x7 foot Tiger Heavyweight Workshop shed was placed on 13 September 2013. I thought it would be delivered in 15 days. It was delivered 38 days later. There was no apology for this: had I read the small print, I'd have seen that the reference to '15 days' means 15 working days, and deliveries may take longer than that at the discretion of Tigerbox.
The delivery driver was unhelpful. He refused to help carry the panels through our house to our garden and he refused to move his truck to the road that would give easier access to our back garden where the shed would be installed. Instead, he put some panels in our front garden and others on the pavement outside our property. He also failed to deliver the paint we had ordered. I called Tigerbox and was referred to the terms where delivery is defined as "kerbside" delivery - so it seems he'd done nothing wrong.
We had also paid for installation. That was not forthcoming. No date was given for installation despite 4 calls and 3 emails chasing this up after delivery. In November we gave up waiting and my wife and I assembled the thing ourselves over the course of a weekend. Three weeks later, we got a refund for the installation.
There's nothing 'heavyweight' about the shed itself -- it was light enough that I could slide it when fully assembled on its concrete base, albeit with effort. I've since bought additional wood to strengthen its rear panel in order to hang a light (9kg) bike from a bike rack. I feel hugely frustrated that I paid a premium for an average shed and truly awful service.
