I brought a Marmot fo £99 usual price £180.00
waterproof jacket from blacks on the 30th December had the jacket 18 days and had worn it half a dozen times. I returned to store because the material was going pitted buy every rain drop it was really strange never seen anything lke it !
I was told it had to be sent back for in spection two weeeks later I get told that ive washed it.. !!??
NO... I havnt its a waterproof jacket !!?? They offered me a SAMPLE reproofing kit!! what a joke!! only then was i told it could go back for another inspection and again have to wait up to two weeks!! If its returned again im told that i have to take the problem up with Marmot. My contract of sale is with Blacks not Marmot. and was returned wth in 28 days.
I also rang customer services basically told your have to wait for it to come back again! end of conversation.. This is so wrong.. Was only because i refused there offer of spray that i was told abot the second inspection offer.
Ive owned the item for 18 days. This means they would have it longer than I have.
If an item is visibly faulty then I should be entitled to a full refund. If the assistant in store said it looked like there was a problem when the item was first waterproofed.
Why sould i take the blame ? to be told ive washed the item is wrong. the reason why its tested that there is no waterproffing on it is because there wasnt any on it in the first place..
Needless to say we will watch this space to see what they say..
After reading other reviews on this sight sounds like its a familar story.

WELL AFTER 8 WEEKS MY CONSTANT EMAILING AND GENERIC MESSAGES BEING RETURNED AND CONSTANT RINGING CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE, HUGE AMOUNT OF TIME AND EXPENSE, I HAVE HAD SOME NEWS!!
THEY HAVE HAD MY JACKET FOR 8 WEEKS, 8 WEEKS OF CONSTANT BATTLE BEING REFUSED THREE TIMES FOR A FULL REFUND AND AFTER TWO INSPECTIONS AND THE VERY NICE LADY CALLED KAY SAYING THEY WOULD DO A THIRD, I HAVE PHONED THEM TWICE A WEEK EVERY WEEK AT PREMIUM RATE!! I HAVE FINALLY BEEN TOLD THAT THE JACKET WAS FAULTY!!
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO DEAL WITH EMAILS ARE INFACT ABSOLUTLEY USELESS, THEY DONT EVEN RECOGNISE THAT I TOLD THEM I WAS TAKING THEM TO COURT AND EVEN SUGGESTED THAT IF I DIDNT EXCEPT THAT IT WAS MY FAULT THEN GO TO TRADE AND STANDARDS!!??

Another up date, I decided to complain to head office regarding the issue I had with customer service, especially generic emails sent. After three emails I finally got a response still not satisfied I kept going, till they finally admitted they were wrong how my complaint was handled. After having the offer of a measly £10 voucher its been increased to £20 fulls a long way short of what it cost me in time ans money! Just to have the satisfaction of spending their money and not mine!
Anyone still struggling keep going at it.. the satisfaction is worth it
