Eon Uk

Worst customer service in the world... E.O.N are shocking!!

We moved to Eon for our energy provision over a year ago, they asked us if we wanted to switch our homecare agreement too. We thought they were efficient during the sign up process and British Gas was expensive so we agreed to take a similar plan to cover our boiler with them.
Over a year later and last Friday our boiler broke down, we haven't ever called them out before, so we thought its ok we can call them and they can come and fix the issue for us.

So we had no hot water or heating and I called them Friday 31st Jan 2014 and was asked how old the kids are I said 4 the lady said the earliest appointment was Tuesday the 4th of February....

E.O.N corporate Charter #1 - if they don't have a child under 4 then let them freeze.

I told my wife what they had said and she wasn't impressed, she phoned them back and told them we have my brothers little boy (2) during the week and that we would definitely need the heating looking at asap. The lady said ok we will get someone out between 1 and 8pm on Monday 3rd Jan 2014.

E.O.N corporate Charter #2 - If they have a child under 4 then knock one day off the EMERGENCY RESPONSE time of 3 days... (thank god they aren't the ambulance service)

I took the afternoon of work, much to my managers displeasure and after being sat here until 3pm I received a call telling me that they weren't coming out and that due to building work we had done in the kitchen were they moved the timer switch for the boiler 6 inches down the wall that they were classing our boiler insurance as null and void. (this was done 4 months ago and the timer is perfect its the pilot light that isn't working)

E.O.N Customer Charter #3 - The customer must pay his boiler insurance for over a year until date of first claim, then when first claim is made, find any loophole to get out of it you can and avoid doing anything as much as possible.

I spoke to a lovely young boy (about 12) who informed me in the smarmiest way imaginable that he couldn't do anything, nor could he put me through to a manager, nor could he issue me a refund for my afternoon off work, nor could he give me his last name BUT he could give me his direct dial - whatever....

E.O.N Customer Charter #4 - If in doubt on a customer service call or where the customer is completely dumbfounded by our reluctance to lift a finger to help them - pretend to be a little boy / girl and act dumb. Give ext.no and first name only and do not under any circumstances put them on to a manager.

I have never experienced any customer service like this ever, they are leaving their customer with no heating, no hot water for a 4th day and telling me they aren't going to do anything to help us AT ALL EVER.

I am writing this for those people out there who like me where ignorant of just how bad E.O.N Energy are at looking after you once you become a customer and the lengths they will go to to avoid looking after your family.

Whatever you think of my review, it wont alter the fact that my 4 year old is very, very cold and cant have a proper bath in his home and its because of the highwaymen at E.O.N Energy.

Please stay well away from these guys they are truly horrible and incompetent from top to bottom
