I was surprised, while exploring booking possibilities online, to receive a phone call from Travel Republic. The representative then helpfully took over the whole process, making the booking so much easier than the usual pages one is required to trawl through in order to make arrangements online. This proactive approach was clearly to our mutual benefit. Indeed, quite the opposite of the usual experience with call centres. The company even posted travel documents to me; I wonder how many customers struggle (like me) with unreliable home printers. Well done and thank you.
I have used World First both for annual policies and one-off trips for a few years, following a newspaper commendation re pre-existing health conditions. This followed unsuccessful attempts at obtaining travel insurance from numerous other providers; even those recommended by agencies such as Macmillan (cancer charity). It was understandably a little slow to get through to a representative on the telephone, but the questions were then straightforward and helpful. Cover was obtained easily, and was reasonably priced. I have no experience of making a claim on the policy, and of course hope I never need to.
