Europcar

Good quality, good prices

Europcar provide good quality cars at good prices from an easy-to-use and easy-to-navigate website. With hundreds of pick-up points around the country, there's one near you and they always have a very wide range of cars to choose from, starting with economy all the way up to luxury.

Britishairways

If you want to pay a lot for a flight, BA are perfect.

I flew BA first class from LHR to BKK and it was probably one of the highlights of my life. Of course, I paid several thousand of pounds for the pleasure. Meantime, back in reality, I fly up and down the country 3 times a month and I never ever use BA. Why? Well, they're usually the most expensive, have unhelpful domestic schedules and they don't fly from all of Britain's 8 largest airports anymore!

GAME

High prices and not great service

Perhaps unsurprisingly, GAME sell games. Almost always, their prices are higher than Amazon or Play. So the trade-off for higher prices should be time and service. If you want that new must-have game as soon as it hits the shelves, then visiting a GAME store will give you what you need. But their tills always have long lines and I've never received specialist advice from their staff. GAME should offer something different that online-only stores can't offer - but they don't.

Want RAM? Don't buy anywhere else

If you want more RAM for your computer, don't go anywhere else - go to Crucial.com. Choose your computer manufacturer and model and Crucial will give you a great price for the exact kind of RAM you need. Not sure which model you have? Download the system analyser program, and Crucial will ask your computer what kind of memory you have and tell you the answer. Fast delivery and great prices - what more do you need?

The original and the best

Who is that actress? What film have I seen her in? Who did she co-star with? These questions and more are available for free at IMDB.com, the original and best internet movie database. My favourite feature - trivia. Did you know that Back to the Future started principal photography with Eric Stoltz instead of Michael J Fox? IMDB does.

The aggregated value of customer reviews is usually spot on, too. A 4/10 means the film is awful, 6/10 means the film is good and 8/10 means it's a runaway bestseller.

Easyjet

They're better than you think - but watch out for the extra charges

You know what, over the past few years, I've learned to like Easyjet. They've had some bad press, but what they do, they do really well. As long as you're on time at the gate ("If you're late, we won't wait!") then you'll find they usually leave on time, they're not arrogant like RyanAir, their flight schedules are at helpful times of the day and they generally provide good value.

But - and this is a big but - they charge £8 for using a debit card! They are charged a raw processing cost of around 35p-45p by their bank, making that fee a mark-up of over 1700%! This is a shameful practice and one they must change soon, or lose business.

Just Eat

Avoid this company - they're terrible!

We tried Just-Eat for the first time tonight. We ordered a curry at 7:15 and were told it would be with us by 8:00pm. By 8:30 we called the restaurant and they told us that Just-Eat only phoned through the order to them at 8:15 - fifteen minutes AFTER our food should have been with us. 90 minutes after we placed our order we called Just Eat (on their 5pence per minute 0844 number) and they were completely unhelpful - telling us that any complaint needed to be emailed - they can't take complaints over the phone. Then the driver called - he couldn't find the place, because he had been given the wrong postcode by Just Eat and told us that our postcode was too far away! The restaurant wasn't to blame here - Just Eat had taken our order and screwed it up in every way possible. Avoid this company like the plague!
