I have been a paying customer of Homeserve 7-8 years and when I needed them they let me down. An electrical fault (random and frequent trips due to neg / earth leak) causes all the electrics to dump throughout my house and in an adjoining Annex and barn. One electrician (Mr Electric) did no diagnostic testing yet quoted for a private job for rectification work. I asked for another (Larsen Electrical) who did a good job and found the fault in an underground feed to the Annex (converted) 2005. This is used as a Cinema TV Room and is protected by submersible pumps - to protect it and an adjoining barn from flooding. Homeserve said they wouldn't accept the claim because it was an outbuilding. I told them they had done work on same in 2006 having then accepted it was 'part' of the property albeit technically an 'outbuilding'. They then agreed to make repairs under the insurance BUT then when the second electrician reported that the underground cable (installed circa 1960is from inside the centre of the house and buried out to the Annex) was not armoured and was thus incorrectly installed. Homeserve have now refused to accept liability. They have offered to disconnect the cable thereby removing the problem yet not resolving it - whilst acknowledging the loss of power to the Annex will be an issue re pumps/flooding. Quote" we are not concerned about it being used as a TV room" (thanks Josie of Customer Services ! Very Xmas spirited (not) but being sorry doesn't help). So 3 days away from Christmas we sit waiting for the next outage when we press a switch or move a plug - which, of course, when it happens randomly at night leaves pumps u/s and the house with no heating. And all this with my wife just months having suffered a heart attack and recovering at home - and yes they did originally express concern over this. Not good enough Homeserve - just not good enough. So all my policies are now cancelled (they did that immediately!!) and do they care - I think not. Maybe I have to dig up all my water pipes they insured to upgrade them also !! They have escalated the complaint internally - whatever that means but I guess I will now have to have to pay for a private job and that just before Xmas!
I walked out of my local O2 shop when they said quote "yeah we are expensive and the trade in is pants - but hey we can sell as many as we like (4S)"....so I went to Vodaphone and they had a really good deal but no phones..so went back to 02. No joy, no price match not even for a long term customer with 4 phones in the family...so went back to Vodaphone. They suggested I called O2 retention !!!!!! I did - they did a great deal...BUT. When the new 4S stops working the customer service refer you to an O2 shop - who will have nothing to do with you. As neither will Apple. Buying from 'retention' is deemed to be online and nothing to do with O2 retail shops. Poor service, wrong customer service advice - shame about the phone. Only saving grace was excellent support from repairs team - but it took me 3 hrs and 5 calls waiting on piped music landlines.
i wanted a not too expensive headboard for my holiday let - that didn;t look cheap - unlike some high street rubbish. This does the job: relativley inexpensive, solid build quality and good finish. All delivered in good packaging within days!
Effortless, thank you. I am now going to order for my main house and spend a lot more!
