I ordered a corner TV unit just before Xmas. My TV had died and my wife had an operation pending and it was essential she had some telly to watch while in the house alone! I bought on line and ticked the option for collection in store. The store rang me and said it would be after Xmas if I collected from store but could collect it from a depot in two days time. I agreed a time and Date and promptly arranged works time of to collect. When I went to collect the item it was not in the warehouse and they confirmed the store had cocked up on arrangements, when contacted by the store I cancelled the order because so much was going on I could not suffer any more hassle. However later that night I rang the branch to complain about the lack of co-ordination and bad timing and was offered by a manager the chance to collect the item from Teeside (a 70 mile round trip!) and some petrol money in lieu of trouble knocked off the price. I agreed and next day picked up the item. If the organisation had been perfect I would have given them 5 stars but because of the lack of co-ordination between store staff and warehouse deliveries I award 4 stars. So if things go bad it pays to persevere and go higher to complain. I do think Barker and Stonehouse customer service needs further training!
The product is always at a reasonable price with on line special discounts available. But the company they use to post the package (Yodel) will not leave it with neighbours and then when you phone the depot the number on the card they have popped thro your door does not match your parcel number. it is the second time this has happened and the guy on the other end of the phone speaks bad english so communication is stressfull to say the least. I will never use them again and I will go back to Zooplus.
