I actually held off answering this request for a review as I was initially a little disappointed.
First the good stuff:
I thought the web-site and ordering process was excellent.I also found the user-forum a good place to glean information, before ordering.
My order arrived within the indicated time-scale and was very well packed.
I assembled it fairly quickly as it was pretty intuitive but sadly within a few minutes of use the monitor filled with mosaics. A couple of calls to the quickly answered and friendly help desk ascertained that the graphics card had failed and I was asked to return it. With the assistance of the help desk I removed the graphics card but at the same time noticed and mentioned that there was a cable from two USB 3 ports hanging loose in the case.I was told where to plug the cable in to the mother board and did as asked. I sent of the faulty graphics card on Saturday and received a replacement on Tuesday. So a very rapid turn-around.
I opened the case to install the replacement card and noticed that the USB cable was again detached from the mother board. I again spoke to the help desk, after I had examined the socket on the mother board with a magnifying glass and noticed missing/bent pins. I was asked to send photographs which I did. The response was that the missing pin was intentional and that I should straighten the bent pins with a flat edged screwdriver. This I tried but was unsuccessful, in that I could not get the plug into the socket on the mother board.I asked if the socket could be detached from the mother board and a replacement sent. The replay was no, a replacement mother board would be required. As I think I have enough USB's for my needs I declined sending the whole desktop unit back as I really needed to use the PC.
I was left with the question as to how well the assembly and QC process was.Things do happen in transit but I am left wondering why the graphics card failed almost immediately if it was tested for any length of time and were the USB 3 ports tested as I am not convinced that the connector would have come loose in transit if it was in fact properly installed.Perhaps the pins were bent by me trying to reattach the connector. I think not.
Having said all that the machine is working well (except for the two USB 3 ports) and I am enjoying it.
This was my first experience of buying a PC without, at the same time being offered on-site maintenance from the manufacturer.I was aware of this when I ordered, just unfortunate that I had a couple of issues.
Ignoring the faulty bits my overall impression is of a well built machine and a customer- friendly company.
