ACHICA

Achica makes for a pleasurable shopping experience

I love this new concept in shopping. I have been shopping with Achica for a while and have obtained some beautiful, hard to find things for my home, but the best part is that I get them at wonderful prices. Achica sell things that are available elsewhere, but they also source items for the home that are only available to trade interior designers or very high end shops. It is such a treat to check their website each evening and see what delights they have in store that day. One has to be quick as they are "flash sales" if you like, lasting only a few days. One thing that one has to understand when shopping with Achica is that sometimes the orders can take a while to arrive as they await for shipments to arrive directly from manufacturers. This doesn't bother me, as I realise the concept of the sales and it is a small price to pay. Although, around Christmas they seemed to get my orders to me in lightning speed. Any time I have had to contact Achica eg to check on an order or another query, they get back to me promptly via the online messaging service. I was a bit wary at first as I like the idea of picking up the phone and speaking to someone. Again, it is a new concept in shopping, but I can assure you I have found their customer service amazing and trustworthy. I know that the people behind Achica were behind ASOS, another great online company that changed the face of shopping and another very reliable, easy to do business with company. They seem to get it right by putting the customer first in everything they do, have great products and then the business flourishes. I wish other companies would follow suit. They also have holiday deals that I haven't yet purchased from, but they do look enticing. They also have a brilliant blog that I have obtained great interior design tips. It is such a brilliant idea putting this along side the sales. Go check it out. It will be become an addiction though, I have to warn you.

Debenhams

Horrendous - how can they still be in business

Do not buy anything online from Debenhams unless you want fluffed up orders, days wasted for couriers that do not turn up, empty promises from call centre staff and money lost when they do not refund for returns sent to them. This occured when they sent me the completely wrong item and when I returned it, they still did not refund me for the items they were supposed to have sent me. I am tired trying to chase after it. I will vote with my feet and tell others. Staff are impotent to help and they have no customer complaints dept. Thieving company. Rotten to the core. Their stores are in disarray and unpleasant. Please take a leaf out of John Lewis or Selfridges and get with the programme. It is the 21st century. Either that or please go into administration and put the shopping public out of its misery.
