Merlin is one of the half dozzen or so cycle shops I check every time I'm making a purchase, particularly when it comes to components. I've bought two bicycles from them and will most likely buy plenty of things from them in the future.
They might not have the range of clothing other cycle shops do but they're often among the best when it comes to the prices of pedals, saddles, groupsets etc. and it's in their favour they offer cashback via Quidco.
I ordered two Craft sleeveless base layers on August the 19th. On the 23rd one of the staff wrote to tell me they weren't in stock. I wouldn't have ordered had I know this beforehand. I was given the option of cancelling my order and chose to do so (receiving confirmation of the cancellation).
At the start of this month (September) two Craft sleeveless base layers arrived from Sigma Sport and I was charged for them. That's not particularly great service.
They're only getting two stars (rather than one) due to the guy who wrote to me being apologetic and pleasant, the price being fairly good and my ultimately deciding to hold onto the base layers (even though I'd bought others in the interim).
It's a tad shoddy to show an item as for sale and in stock when not in stock, take four days (albeit two of them were weekend days) to let one know their error and send them when the order has been cancelled. It doesn't fill me full of desire to order from them again.
