The service tag on my Dimension 9200, bought only four years ago, is no longer recognised by Dell. It makes life difficult when tracing required data on upgrades. Why is the service tag scrapped so quickly?

The service is excellent

I had to install a dual channel kit in my Dell computer but no one mentioned that the two modules had to be installed in numerical sequence. It would have helped if it was mentioned in the two board kit and saved me a mild heart attack when, at first, nothing worked. All OK now.
