Purchased a motherboard which came with the box unsealed, the electrostatic packing unsealed, and the CPU socket had no protector. After speaking with customer service I was told that as the item had come direct from the vendor it wouldn't be unsealed, incomplete or used, and I can return the item at my own cost if I choose to do so. I was then put through to a manager who was a little more helpful, and said that I could return the product free of charge and they'd exchange it for a new one... the problem with that is that I needed this item to work there and then rather than waiting a week for them to send out a new one as they can't send it until the other motherboard is received. In the end I decided against returning the motherboard (which seems to be working fine) and instead sent an e-mail requesting that they send me the missing CPU socket protector (as this may be needed in the future if I have any problems with the motherboard; manufacturers usually ask for it to be installed on return) ...ebuyer refused to do this as they do not stock components, and said I would have to return the item. Like I've said, I can't return the item as it's needed and I'm not now going to spend my time taking everything apart and wait for a new motherboard; this should never have happened in the first place.
We've used ebuyer for several years now and spent thousands of pounds with them, needless to say that the customer service they have provided in this particular case is very dissatisfactory and has put me off ever using them again.
