I tried Prime for the free month. In the past 6 months I have ordered over 100 items from Amazon so thought this would be worthwhile. Unfortunately they kept using HDNL and parcels were up to 4 days late. I made numerous complaints but I just knew I was banging my head against a brick wall. The emails from customer services were vague and useless and when they did phone me it wasn't much better. Towards the end of my free trial I started to get all my parcels via Citilink and Royal Mail tracked.
Based on this I subscribed to Prime for £49.99. Big mistake, since subscribing I have had the most appalling service from Amazon. Hardly any of the items I have ordered have turned up the next day, they continue to use HDNL (I am currently waiting for 2 parcels now overdue) and they seem to send heavier orders out via a slower service. I ordered the 7 boxed sets that make up the Star Trek Voyager series. All ordered as one. Amazon split the order into 3 and a single boxed set was delivered next day, the heavier 2 and 4 parts are due in 3 days time. They are all coming from Amazon's preferred merchant in Jersey, they were all dispatched the same day so no excuse that they all could have been sent for next day delivery. On Amazon's website on the Prime page it actually says 'Unlimited FREE One-Day Delivery on millions of eligible items sold by Amazon.co.uk' Don't believe it, it is total rubbish Save your money and use free delivery instead as you will get your goods in about the same time.
I use Amazon a lot and have always been happy with their free delivery but now I am paying a premium they have badly let me and many others down.
I tried out the free trial of Amazon Prime and nearly every parcel delivered by HDNL was late, sometimes 4 days late. Towards the end of my trial I got my parcels via Citilink and Royal Mail tracked service. Based on this I subscribed to Prime. Everything has gone down hill since then with Amazon providing a worse service and yet again sending via HDNL. I am currently waiting for 2 Amazon Prime parcels due for delivery by HDNL today. It is now 5.30pm and the parcels are showing as being in Northern Ireland instead of Boston Lincolnshire. One review site has over 3,000 posts about HDNL and Amazon's own forums have over 100 complaints about HDNL. Amazon are totally ignoring their customers complaints about HDNL.
