TopCashBack

Very average

I gave TopCashBack a go because I was becoming a little dis-enamoured with one of its main competitors. Unfortunately I am not sold enough to stay with it and I have defected back to my old home. TCB is OK, but its tracking is hit and miss, and when you put in a claim, you may as well kiss goodbye to hearing about that ever again. I put in a claim for an untracked transaction in December and then over 2.5 months later received confirmation that the claim had been submitted to the retailer. I know that this is not standard for that retailer having used them with the other competitor website.
Another bug bear of mine is the tip jar. I find it tacky. I understand that they are a cashback provider in comparison to others but if they can't run on their own business model, then perhaps they should start charging.
Basically, it's OK but nothing to write home about.

Hi Anne,

Thank you for writing a review.

I'm sorry to hear that you have had some tracking issues and delayed claims with TopCashback. Generally speaking, most transactions track and claims are usually resolved within about 3 months. Problems can occur, but I would say that this is reasonably rare.

I would be happy to look into any issues you may have had if you email contact@topcashback.co.uk?

Regarding the Tip Jar option, this is not a source of income which we rely on, but a genuine 'tip' function. This was created so that members, who did want to donate any of their cashback to us as a thank you, could do so. There is absolutely no pressure to use this and members should certainly not feel obliged to do so.

Best wishes,
John

Interparcel

Pretty good and reliable

I have been using Interparcel for years. My initial experiences were OK with a couple of hiccups and the customer service that I received when I had issues was hit and miss.

Nowadays however, it is a different story. I think that I have had two missed collections in the past year and regardless of whether it was the fault of the courier or Interparcel emailing garnered me the appropriate response and the parcel was collected successfully the next working day. I have not tried to call Interparcel for years and don't know if they still have a premium rate number but if it can be done by email, that's fine with me.

I know that there are plenty of parcel services out there but I will continue to use Interparcel as my first port of call, they're cheaper than the Royal Mail and regardless of the size, weight or content of my product, I always seem to manage to find a carrier at an affordable price.

Quidco.com

Not as good as it used to be

I have been a member of Quidco since 2008 and was very loyal until recently. Over the past year or so cashback doesn't track automatically with many retailers (yes I clear my cookies, etc etc) and then when a claim is submitted they take forever to be sent to the retailer.

In addition to this, many tracked cashback transactions sit on my account for months - way beyond the average time indicated by Quidco. The only way these old transactions seem to get dealt with is if I chase them, then magically they start moving and in some cases are paid on the next payment run. This seems wrong, basically implying that unless we chase, the money is going to stay with Quidco.

Lastly, the customer service, whilst fast, is not as efficient as it used to be. It is clear - as with most growing companies - that they want you to avoid contacting the customer service team, but when you do they respond well within the allotted time given at the stage of submission, but more often than not with a standard response. "we are sorry that your cashback with **** is taking longer than expected...." Frustrating.

I fully understand that cashback is never guaranteed, but having experienced an outstanding service for about 3 years, this past year has left me wanting and I have to admit I have defected, not fully, but in part to a competitor site. Only time will tell if they are any better, or worse, than Quidco.

Amazon

I can't fault them at the moment

I pay for Amazon Prime and because of the amount of stuff we order from them it easily pays for itself. The service is great and if there is a problem, the returns process is excellent. They are one of my favourite companies to shop with.

Pet Supermarket

Good service but slow delivery

Good service but the delivery times are quite slow. Could have paid for delivery within a week or received free delivery for guaranteed delivery within 2 weeks. As it was, received the items in just over a week. That is my only bug bear with Pet Supermarket which makes them a little outdated in this day and age. If we're not in a hurry though we will continue to use them.
