Once the decision had been made to buy a prosumer coffee machine and having spent over a week researching numerous web-sites for information (reviews, manufacturers, suppliers, machine types , boiler capacities etc) my head was swirling with an overload of technical detail and my wife informed me that I was in danger of releasing my "inner geek". In many ways I was more confused than at the outset. All to easy to have just gone on the 'spec', trusted the pictures and put myself out of my misery and bought one off the internet . But this is a big investment , I decided I needed help and more to the point WE decided we needed to actually see and feel the thing we were buying. Coffee machines like this take up a lot of room, (some of them are a lot bigger than their photos suggest), they shine a lot and are very visible in the kitchen environment.Others are incredibly ugly and assuming we chose well it would hopefully be with us for a long time.Important then to get it right.
So few places have a showroom. Bella Barista does. Also in the guise of Claudette it has its own very knowledgeable expert on hand to offer advice and guidance. I made a phone call and arranged a visit. It was a hundred and fifty mile round trip and I have to say even without the numerous free coffees well worth the time and effort. Not only were we given a very good overview of all the machines on offer but also hands on instruction in their use and a coffee education. There was no hard sell or pressure.(Remarkable when you think that we were there for almost three hours.) The whole experience was relaxed, informal and enjoyable . I have no hesitation in recommending Bella Barista to potential future customers and would like to give Claudette a heart felt thanks for her time, patience and enthusiasm. We will definitely be using them again.
Oh and yes we did eventually purchase..... a Rocket Cellini..... Not only does it make exceedingly good coffee , it is anything but ugly and my inner geek is entirely satisfied.
