Bought a Sony RX100 at a very good price but it took 5 days to get here. Order delayed by security check involving sending copy of latest utility bill which I provided on the same day as the order. I buy off the internet all the time but I've never had to do this before....very strange?? Ordered 12pm Wed but not dispatched until Friday due to security check. Website says orders shipped next day delivery but actually it's next Working day so didn't get here until Monday afternoon. Good communication but if you want it ASAP keep an eye on your emails after you place order so that you can send a copy of utility bill and avoid adding to lead time. If you don't check your email for a few days you'll probably be looking at 7 days or more.
Purchased a Stelrad radiator as one of the best prices I could find. Delivery date was sooner than I expected and I thought I would need to re-arrange for another day as I was going to be out in the afternoon of the scheduld delivery date. This was not neccesary though because when I called BHL they arranged for it to be delivered before 2pm.....excellent service at a very competitive price!!
Ordered Sonos S5 shown as In Stock but after 8 days and several emails could not get a date for dispatch. They wasted no time charging credit card though which concerned me because most reputable companies do not usually charge until despatch.
Eventually got fed up of waiting and decided to cancel order. Tried to do this via telephone, which is a chargeable number by the way so beware, but got through to Sales. They told me they could not deal with the cancellation and transferred me to a queue with an estimated wait time of 15 mins. After a few mins the wait time increased to 19 mins so gave up and resorted to email.
After a couple of requests the Company agreed to cancel the order and give me a refund. On 12th July they said they had submitted the request to their accounts dept and I would get an email when it had been processed. To date (1st Aug) I've not had either an email or a refund so I am now in the process of claiming it back through my credit card company as I have seen a number of reviews now from others struggling to get their money back.
The price was very good but obviously too good to be true!! Wonder whether they are using customers money to fund buying stock after orders placed. Can't see why it would take over a week to despatch a stock item?? I was prepared to wait longer but became suspicious when they couldn't even give me despatch date, let alone a delivery date, after 8 days.
The only positive thing I can say is that they did respond to emails promptly and courteously. As others have pointed out you should also note that this is a Hong Kong based company.....
I purchased a Winchester WPS1200 from iMusician (part of the Dawsons group...piano arrived in a Dawsons van) website. Although the price was very competetive I had a very poor customer experience. After assemebling the piano I noticed that there were white translucent marks all over the surface of the rosewood cabinet which could not be removed. I contacted iMusician (and emailed photos of the defects) and they assured me that this was a one-off and that the rest of their stock was fine and arranged to send a replacement. I therefore had to dismantle the piano and make arrangements to be at home during the day for a second time so that the piano could be replaced.
As soon as the delivery men had left I opened the second piano and could straight away that it had the same marks on it as the first piano. I immediately telephoned iMusician and was told that they were busy and would call me back. About 3 hours later they finally called me back and agreed to replace the Winchester with a Yamaha digital piano (over £200 more expensive than the Winchester) at a £25 discount. However they then called me back shortly after to say that they would not be able to give me any discount on the Yamaha afterall. I was extremely disappointed with this and therefore asked for a refund and had to make arrangements to be at home for a third time so that the second faulty piano could be collected.
I cannot believe that iMusician were prepared to upset a customer who had been seriously inconvenienced for the sake of a £25 discount on a purchase of over £1200. I could not recommend iMusician as their approach to customer service when something goes wrong was disgracefull.
I purchased Yamaha CLP-330 digital piano from this company. Telephoned to see whether they would price match other websites selling for £70 cheaper and to check whether they definitely had the piano in stock for next day delivery as indicated on the Umberella website. They would not price match but said that they did have the piano in stock. They also suggested that I check whether the other websites actually did have the piano in stock as this was often not the case. On checking I found that the other site didn't actually have the piano in stock so I paid the extra £70 and ordered from Umbrella as I needed next day delivery as the piano was a birthday present for my daughter. Shortly after ordering I recieved an email saying that they didn't have the piano in stock after all. Eventually took 5 days to arrive and so did not get here in time for my daughter's birthday, which was very frustrating to say the least. Despite knowing that they didn't have the piano in stock they never bothered to upate their website and continued to state 'In Stock and available for next day delivery'. I paid £70 more than several other sites for the privelege of waiting 5 days and didn't get the free music lessons offered on the other websites either....overpriced and poor customer service so I would recommend you save yourself some money and shop elsewhere.
