Had a call from Mat once I'd ordered online offering a slightly better lock for the same price. I had seen the locks but didn't consider them as I hadn't heard of the brand.
The new locks are superb, being a mirror finished stainless steel to maritime standards. Hoping to get a long life outside in the elements.
The order was dispatched quickly and a VAT invoice issued a matter of hours after sending an email requesting it.
Needed to buy a new lock-found detailed information on sizing, which enabled me to select the correct lock-better than going to B&Q with the old lock and trying to find the right one by comparison.
Order despatched the same day and delivered the next-and with a free KitKat!
No problem at all with placing the order and the quality of the products.
The only gripe I have is no-one seemed to read my comment when ordering about the limited access to my property. I specifically said that a lorry bigger than 7.5-12 tons would struggle getting in. So when an irate lorry driver in an 18 ton lorry turned up, I wasn't best pleased. I asked to look at his paperwork and sure enough, no mention of restricting the lorry size. When we eventually got the thing unloaded, in the plastic pouch containing the delivery note was the paperwork generated by the order which showed my comment-unfortunately not visible.
The driver said I should've called to make sure someone had seen the comment-that reminds me-I must go the opticians to get my hind sight checked!!
Having previously ordered from Zavvi and waited ages for the delivery, I wasn't expecting too much. But this time they really impressed. The order was despatched the same day and delivered on day 3, which, as far as I remember, was with free postage-you can't say fairer than that!
My only very minor criticism would be the status emails come from 'The Hut Group' not Zavvi. At first I thought it may have been a phishing email until I realised.
Found the same cable on Amazon market place but as I didn't want to wait for 'we'll get your order, sit on it for a couple of days, then send it out 2nd class post', I decided to trust my instinct and buy directly from Lindy . Order received and despatched same day, arrived the next-what more can you ask?
I believe in honest reviews. HiFi Gear was not my first choice but when John Lewis repeatedly kept going out of stock(just hours after an email telling me more stock had just arrived), I looked for another Sonos Sub stockist and found HiFi Gear. I must admit to being a bit doubtful when their website said the item was in stock AND for the same price.
I needn't have worried as the item was in stock, was despatched promptly and arrived quickly in perfect condition.
Have just ordered another piece of Sonos this morning from HiFi Gear and didn't even think to look at John Lewis-well done.
Placed my order and in due course received a 'dispatched' e-mail containing a tracking number and link. It was the next day when I went to track it and the information was, it was to be delivered today by Parcelforce.
i thought it was too good(and quick), to be true, and sure enough, it was! No delivery. The next day I checked again and it again it said that it would be delivered today by Parcelforce. So I then followed the link to the Parcelforce website. Alarm bells started ringing when Parcelforce didn't recognise the tracking code. But I didn't panic as this has happened to me before. I have a lot of deliveries and consequently know when each courier should deliver. So, 2 hours after Parcelforce should have called, I phoned Garden XL, as it was now the Thursday before a Bank Holiday and I was thinking the worst. They checked my tracking number and also had no luck. The person at garden XL then gave 'me' the Parcelforce phone number for my area so that I could call them myself! This I did and they told me it had not been collected by them from Garden XL. Great, I thought, that means it's not going to be until the latter part of the next week before I receive it now because of the Bank Holiday.
So I called Garden XL again and spoke to someone different. She took my phone number and said she would call me back. 5 minutes later she did. It appeared that my delivery should have been sent from a third party (the supplier) but for whatever reason it wasn't. She said that they were going to try to get it dispatched that day on a Next Day basis. I asked if it would be both parts of my order that would be dispatched by them(Dog Bed and Mattress), and she said yes. I thanked her for her help and got back to what I was doing. 30 minutes later, the mattress, on it's own, was delivered-by DPD!
The good news is that sure enough, the Dog Bed was delivered the next day-by Fed Ex.
It just goes to show that when you receive one of those reassuring e-mails telling you your order is on it's way, take it with a pinch of salt!
