Ridiculous Administration Fees

Booked my flights Antalya > Istanbul > Amman. My travel plans changed but having chosen a flexible fare, I new I could get at least a partial refund. The airline penalty for cancelling the flight was £42 (I would have given a 5* review even if that fee was in place), but I was then charged a £55 admin fee by Budget Air. That £55 fee cannot be avoided - I was told I could not cancel directly with the airline. I found the £55 fee particularly irritating. 3* off for that.

Our terms and conditions state that we assess a fee of GBP 55 for changing or cancelling flights. The fares we offer on our website are considerably cheaper then those offer directly by the airline. This is because their profit margins and overheads are much higher. In order for us to maintain our customer service we charge an administrative fee for cancellations, just like the airline. The majority of our customers are happy with paying less for their ticket and understand that we need to cover our administrative expenses by means of a service fee. If this poses a problem we suggest you sideline online travel agencies in the future and book directly with the airline.

i ordered some letters for my wedding (to make some nice signs). The package was delayed so I'd written to the merchant asking for the items to be delivered straight to the venue by special delivery. Everything came through on time, and I didn't get charged extra for the special delivery. Happy overall, even if it did add to the stress.

I wish I could shop here every day

I recently bought a dress from Net-a-Porter and I loved their service. I placed an order on a Saturday night and received it on Sunday. Excellent packaging and super quick delivery. And the dress was gorgeous (if expensive).


Very happy

First, I used the breed selector to choose the breed of my puppy (Westie!) and then I started using Pet Planet for the supplies. Occasionally the items have been delayed, but overall I am happy with the experience.


Loved my album

I used their free program to create and print a photo album with my wedding photographs. It's now arrived and I LOVE IT. It is pricey, but I did manage to find a discount voucher online. Very pleased with the purchase and with the ease of use of the website.


Mixed experience - but the price is worth it

I've bought several items from Secret Sales (a watch, candles, trainers, crystal tumblers, juicy couture kids clothing) and have had all sorts of experiences. Sometimes the stuff arrives within a week, but once the candles I ordered in November 2010 did not arrive until January 2011 (they were intended as Christmas presents, so that wasn't ideal). But with prices that good - I really can't complain!

No good

A few days after placing an order I received an email requesting a copy of a utility bill and a copy of my passport (!!!). I thought internet shopping was supposed to be about convenience - not about scanning and sending personal documents around. This is far too intrusive. I've requested to cancel the order and have been told that my case has been passed to the "security team". As if I've stolen something. Still waiting for a refund.


Very good!

I placed an order for Acuvue Oasys on a Wednesday morning and received my lenses on Thursday. I must say, I've never experienced such quick turnaround. Also - excellent recommendation on the solution (Biotrue) - it suited my eyes much better than the stuff that my optician recommended. Top marks. I will definitely be ordering again and will recommend Lenstore to my friends.
