Glasses Direct have a great site, great glasses selection, and are very quick and efficient at taking orders and despatching glasses out to you for both trial and personal use after purchase.
I had an issue after receiving my new glasses. Despite purchasing the thinnest lenses online – the site suggests these are the only thin lenses available – they arrived and were noticeably thicker than my existing same prescription high street glasses.
I was initially told this was down to choosing a half rimless frame – the glasses needed to be thicker simply to fit. The glasses were returned, and a no quibble refund was issued.
I then ordered ultra thin premium lenses against my second choice of now full frame glasses. On arrival, they were still thicker than my old same prescription glasses.
I posted a review here on trust pilot, and glasses direct got in touch. It appears that the thinnest lenses they offer online are NOT the thinnest lenses you can get – hence the difference between the pairs I own. This is very misleading on the site !!! At no point is it made clear that thinner lenses are available but not available to purchase online.
My glasses were again returned, the new super thin ( 1.7’s, not 1.6’s ) were put in and posted to me.
These are the same thickness as my old glasses ! At last !
The whole process was quite infuriating, but handled very well by glasses direct. Their customer service is good. Buying glasses online can work, if only they didn’t mislead customers online !
Having navigated to a co.uk site, I instantly assumed that my order would be processed and desptached from the UK. The Channel Islands at a push...
The problem was I ordered a birthday card, the P&P rates being a little high, but not high enough to arouse my suspicion about where the damn thing would be despatched from. I even allowed an extra 10 days from order date before I needed the card.
Suffice to say, it's 3 weeks later and no sign of the card. A close inspection ( and I mean close ) reveals that orders from the .co.uk site are sent from California.
As a result, my order is irrelevant, and that's £5 wasted. The card still hasn't arrived either.
Would not use again.
Orderded Infurn's "Big boy" bean bag at the start of November 2011 as part of a groupon deal.
Stated delivery was 4 to 6 weeks. In the end, delivery took 10 weeks.
I did email customer service, and did receive a prompt reply which directed me back to their website and their order tracking system. The delivery date issued by that system did change a couple of times.
The product itself is a copy of the "fat boy" beanbag, right down to the same colour and style of label as the fat boy ( instead, it reads big boy )
Seems of solid construction, and decent material and a good copy all round. Could of done with a little more padding, in my opinion.
That said, the total price I paid for the product was around 33% of the cost of an official fat boy. You get what you pay for - this is a good copy and a good price. Customer service and delivery on par with this.
Don't go crying to Groupon either - they are actually the worst when it comes to customer service, trust me...
Purewell answered questions I had regarding an LED TV by email very promptly, which in turn lead me to purchase the TV.
The set was delivered at 9am the next day, after I phoned to check a few further details.
Purewell did not only have excellent customer service, the product was at the best price ( with additional accessories ) that I could find anywhere on the web. By telephone, Purewell were very polite helpful and professional.
