Brilliant idea - no frills airtime provider that's so cheap it's worth buying your own phone. Massively undercuts Vodafone, O2, etc. But they leave too much for customers to find out for themsleves. You need to be a tiny bit techie - and that wouldn't be necessary if they had better instructions available via a comprehensive menu and search facility on the front page of their website. SAs it is even a basic thing like getting your data settings right can be a nightmare.
Such a great idea and seems to be truly independent advice. But can't we please have a fresher, more elegant and easy to navigate website? it would be a cast-iron 5-star rating if the front end was classier.
I've left TalkTalk because of their contempt for sutomers. OK, that's true for most big organisations and especially when the product is as price sensitive as telcoms, but I'd prefer to pay a premium for decent customer service so I've moved to Be where i get straight through to a human (albeit in Latvia or somewhere). TalkTalk were especially bad when taking over other companies - I had a LineOne account (LineOne used to be about the biggest ISP in Britain) but they simply stopped supporting it, leaving me and my business in the lurch.
Complacency is easy if you're market leader verging on monopoly. Even so eBay and PayPal were shocking on security, stimulating tens of thousands of frauds through which their customers (rarely if ever eBay or PayPal) lost out. Belatedly they got to grips with that, though they need to keep one step ahead or there will be another crime firestorm enabled by them. But the other issue that bugs me - am I alone in this? - is that the website is still as old-fashioned, cluttered and hard to navigate as ever. Oh for some classy design and simpler navigation!
Really a 5-star outfit but for one flaw: no description of delivery charges. There should be a tab marked 'Delivery costs' with approx prices so you know transparent total price before you start shopping. As it is they don't even list delivery pricing under their 'Help' tab. Actually their charges are fair so they shouldn't hide them.
