Awful Service

The service I recieved from Micom really was terrible.

I ordered a display adapter. After waiting about a week for it to arrive, it turned out to be incompatible with my system. I followed Micom's returns process and sent it back to them, with their completed returns form.

I heard nothing for 3 weeks. Then, a courier tried to deliver the unit back to me. I refused the delivery, and called Micom to find out why they hadn't yet processed the refund. They told me that it would be processed within 2 days.

Another 2 weeks went by. I called them again. This time they said that my payment would be refunded on the day of my call. Will it be? Who knows. But I won't be shopping with them again.


They Ship From Hong Kong And You Get Stung For VAT & Duty look as if they are cheaper than other retailers. They are not.

When your goods arrive you will find out that they have been shipped to you from Hong Kong, and you will get a bill for VAT and import duty that is at least equal to the price saving over buying from Amazon.

At no point in the sales process do they draw your attention to the HK shipping, or to the VAT and duty that you will be required to pay on delivery. They do mention this in the fine print of their website (that they know no-one reads) and therefore what they are doing isn't actually fraudulent, although it is very poor business practice.
